Tintswalo Property Group was first established in 1975 as Century Retail Developments. Company founders Ernest and Gaye Corbett launched the business primarily developing retail shopping centres in rural areas. The group was joined by Warwick and Lisa Goosen (née Corbett) who, together with Gaye and Ernest, also started the 5-star Tintswalo Lodges portfolio of luxury lodges in 2003.

The name ‘Tintswalo’ is a native Shangaan word which means ‘the intangible feeling of love, gratitude and peace that you bestow upon someone who has given you a meaningful and worthy gift.’ With Century Retail Developments now rebranded to Tintswalo Property Group, the group is confident of the future growth in this wonderful country.

In each of its retail centres, the group has developed valuable assets of enduring quality and integrity. The family’s thorough understanding of the unique South African context and its core principles of financial feasibility and sustainability, combined with design and aesthetic vision, consistently make for sound property investment opportunities throughout South Africa.

Now extending into flagship residential developments and medical facilities, the Tintswalo Property Group sets out to further impact the property sector in South Africa.
The Tintswalo Property Group’s core mission is to create viable, well-planned residential, commercial and medical developments, resulting in happy tenants, enhanced communities and increasing value for all stakeholders.
